Frequently Asked Questions

Courses are updated in conjunction with changes to the related standards, to implement new learning improvements, or when new scientific material warrants.

USP staff, volunteers, and external experts, in partnership with skilled education designers, work together to produce timely, effective curricula.

Instructors are chosen by their expertise on specific subjects, their ability to educate, and their ability to devote their talents to USP Education attendees.

Classroom
USP offers face-to-face sessions in traditional classroom settings around the world. Engage with experts and peers and get immediate answers to questions.

Laboratory
USP laboratory sessions provide hands-on training in a working laboratory facility. Many courses combine a classroom lecture with a laboratory segment or video to ensure that you gain comprehensive and practical knowledge of USP standards and how to apply them effectively in your work.

Live Webcasts
USP offers online-streaming courses that allow you to remotely attend live, instructor-led courses via broadcast technology. In real time, interact with USP experts and get answers to your questions. These broadcasts allow more flexibility by breaking the barriers set by geography, budgetary, or scheduling constraints. Additionally, once the live webcast is complete, you can continue to access the self-paced recording online for 60 days.

Self-Paced
Self-paced courses provide online access to recorded webinars, presentations, eLearning materials, and instructional videos. Learn at your own pace - stop when needed and come back later to pick up where you left off.

In order to register for a course, simply create a USP Education account/profile. Make sure the account is for the participant (not the purchaser, if different). and we will be able to assist you.

Once you have a USP account, find and register for any course using the following instructions:

  • Once logged in, find courses easily using the search box or the ‘Live Training Calendar’ option under the 'Find Training' tab.
  • Once you have identified a course of interest, click on the course title link and on the course’s training details page, select and follow the instructions to register and pay online using a credit card. (Note: the ‘Add to Cart’ option will not appear if a Live course is not scheduled or registration has closed).

If more than one person is registering, each should create their own account and register for the course individually. To register multiple participants at once, please email USP Education

USP Education accepts payment by credit card only (Visa, Master Card & American Express) and must be pre-paid online in order to complete registration. At this time USP Education cannot accept payments through a Purchase Order.

Yes, you can you use your organization’s purchasing credit card to make the payment. You will need to have the complete credit card number, expiration date, CVV code, the name as it appears on the credit card and the billing address exactly as it appears on the credit card billing statement.

You can register on behalf of a staff and/or co-worker online if you have access to their account. If you do not have access, email USP Education (education@usp.org) and we will contact you to register the participant over the phone. Please provide the name and/or email address associated with the participant's account, along with the credit card information and we will register them. Please note, the staff/co-worker you are registering for must have an account on our website in order for us to process a registration over the phone.

Yes! We regularly offer early–bird discounts for some courses. These will display in the course training details page.

Group pricing discounts are available for groups of three or more registrants. Please contact. Please contact education@usp.org to inquire about group pricing.

Government/Academic discounts are available to government employees, academic faculty and students. Please contact education@usp.org for details.

Additionally, we offer a broadcast license discount option, which allows large groups to view a broadcast of the live course. Please note that no one in the group will receive CE credits (if applicable) nor will have access to the self-paced recording of the live course. Please contact education@usp.org for pricing.

USP Education Live Course Cancellation/Refund Policy: A USP Education course may be cancelled due to lack of enrollment, inclement weather or other unavoidable factors. In the event of a course cancellation for such reason, USP will provide a full refund to all registered participants. We will do our best to provide at least a two (2) week notice for classroom course cancellations.

Inclement weather policy: For courses held at our Rockville, MD office, USP will follow the federal government’s operating status during inclement weather conditions. If the federal government does not open due to inclement weather, USP offices will be closed, onsite courses will be cancelled, and we will issue a full refund. If the federal government opens late or declares a late arrival policy, USP will follow the federal government and open late; the course will start at the delayed time. Snow & Dismissal status of the federal government can be found here: OPM Operating Status. We will do our best to inform all participants in the event that the course is cancelled or delayed.

Student Registration Cancellation/Refund Policy: To recieve a full refund cancellations must be received in writing via email within the timeframe indicated below. Please email education@usp.org and include “Registration Cancellation – Course Title” in the subject line. Please note that refund requests received after the timeframe indicated below will not be processed but the registrant will receive access to the self-paced course, if available.

Live Webcast: Cancellations must be received two (2) business days prior to the start date of the course unless otherwise noted in your registration email.

Classroom or Laboratory: Cancellations must be received two (2) weeks prior to the start date of the course unless otherwise noted in your registration email registration email.

Self-Paced: Cancellations must be received within fifteen (15) days from the date of registration unless otherwise noted in your.

Blended (Live + Self-Paced): Cancellations must be received within fifteen (15) days of your registration date, and this must be at least 2 days before the live session start date. Refund requests received after the live session will not be processed.

Accessing Live Webcasts:
After you complete your registration, a confirmation email and a transaction email will be sent to the email associated with your account. The confirmation email will include the instructions that will be used to log into the live course prior to the start time.

Launching Self-Paced courses:
After you complete your registration, you can start taking your course:

  • From your dashboard find ‘Your Registered Courses’.
  • Find your course and click ‘Open Curriculum’.

Yes! USP Education’s self-paced courses are now accessible on mobile devices. We recommend a minimum screen size of 10 inches for the best viewing experience. Pop-up blockers must be disabled while viewing courses on mobile devices.

For self-paced courses all resources available can be found within the course curriculum.

For Live courses, course materials will be made available on your USP Education account, 24 hours prior to the course delivery date. You can obtain materials from your transcript by using the following instructions:

  • Log into your account by selecting ‘Login’ from the home page or by hovering over the tool icon found in the upper right-hand corner of the page, next to the search box, and clicking ‘Login.’
  • From your dashboard find ‘Your Registered Courses’.
  • Click on the ellipsis (…) and select ‘View Training Details’
  • If available, course materials will be available via a link found next to the word ‘Resources’ on the trainings detail page.

View Your Certificate of Completion
For live courses you will be able to access and print your Certificate of Completion when the instructor has marked the course complete in your account. You will immediately receive an email indicating that you have completed the course and are now able to access your Certificate of Completion. For self-paced courses you will receive the same email as soon as all of the course content has been completed. You can access and print the certificate as follows:

  • Log into your account by selecting 'Login' from the home page or by hovering over the tool icon found in the upper right-hand corner of the page, next to the search box, and clicking ‘Login.’
  • From your dashboard , look to the left of the search bar and click on the ‘Completions’ link.
  • Select the drop down found to the right of the course title and select ‘View Completion Page’ then select ‘View Certificate.’

You can access your USP Education account by hovering over 'Your Account' and selecting 'Your USP Account.' Logout of the system and then log back in for the update to take place.

The two most recent versions of all common browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge for Windows 10 (the system does not support the use of IE Mode and we no longer support Microsoft Edge Legacy and Internet Explorer 11 browsers) will be able to support viewing of our self-paced online content.
